Sonja Lenore Haaby’s Work History in the Field of Public Accounting

A graduate of Linfield College with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting and a Certificate in Human Resource Management, Sonja Lenore Haaby had an extensive career in banking and finance as branch manager and financial specialist before she stepped into the field of public accounting in 2007. She started her career in public accounting with a local CPA firm where she was able to successfully assist clients (both personal and business) with all their financial tax planning needs, thanks to her education, financial background, and problem solving skills.

Later, Sonja Lenore Haaby joined as Staff Accountant at Kerkoch Katter & Nelson LLP, Bend, Oregon, and then as a Tax Preparer at Excellence in Taxes, Bend Oregon. She also served as a Staff Accountant at Watson Development and Alliance Professionals, LLP, and as an HR Specialist/Office Manager/Senior Accountant at Capstone CPA’s, LLC. In 2018, Sonja opened her own firm, Haaby & Associates, LLC, and has since been assisting her clients in applying for S Corporation elections, setting up non-profit organizations along with their tax return preparation & state filing requirements.

Apart from work, it is Sonja Lenore Haaby’s charitable endeavors that usually keep her busy. Over the years, she has devoted her time helping a number of non-profit organizations along with participating in various leadership programs such as - "Leadership Redmond" and many others. She has also been an active Chamber member and board member of Volunteer Connect and Eagle Mountain where she has volunteered much of her time to community outreach fundraising events, training, coaching, and mentoring others.
